Kaupapa Māori -Primary Mental Health & Addiction

Ngā Kete Aronui offers culturally grounded, Kaupapa Māori mental health and addiction support services in Porirua. We support individuals and whānau who are on their journey to overcoming alcohol and other drugs (AOD) addictions and mental health challenges.

We deliver a range of services to meet the needs of our communities. We implement te ao Māori and Western models of practice.

 

The Ngā Kete Aronui service at Maraeroa Marae Health Clinic offers:

 

  • Whānau-centred solutions.

  • Counselling and access to ACC counselling.

  • Psychodrama.

  • Alcohol and other drug education.

  • Group programmes, including Wāhine Toa ki te Maara Roa, maara kai, and mirimiri.

  • Advocacy: Winz, ACC, IRD and housing services.

Our experienced team delivers AOD support through both individual counselling and group therapy, tailored to meet the unique needs of our people. Whether you’re seeking help for yourself or a loved one, we’re here to walk alongside you.

Alcohol, Drugs & Other Addictions Assessment & Triage Service

 

Supporting individuals and whanau who need support with addiction problems.

We support whaiora/clients in accessing appropriate services according to their specific needs.

 

These can include alcohol and other drugs, as well as social and health needs.

 

What we do:

 

  • Triage, assessments and brief interventions.

  • Comprehensive assessments and referrals to other services or rehabilitation.

  • Alcohol and other drug education.
